Waste management measures

We implement environmentally responsible drilling and production practices in accordance with European Union environmental directives and Polish regulatory requirements. Modern waste treatment and recycling solutions enable the safe handling and recovery of drilling by-products and industrial residues.
Where operationally applicable, processed drilling materials are reused for site stabilization and technical land restoration, reducing reliance on external disposal facilities and limiting transportation-related environmental emissions. This circular approach supports cleaner production and contributes to the responsible use of natural resources.
Each year, a significant portion of operational waste consists of drilling residues and industrial production by-products. Through continuous investment in Best Available Techniques (BAT), Turms Spółka has strengthened its waste reduction initiatives, improved treatment and recycling rates, and minimized the use of harmful chemicals in drilling fluid preparation.

Air protection measures
At Turms Spółka Z Ograniczoną Odpowiedzialnością, we are committed to minimizing atmospheric emissions and improving air quality in all areas of our operations across Poland. Our environmental strategy focuses on reducing hydrocarbon losses, lowering emissions during unfavorable meteorological conditions, and continuously increasing the energy efficiency of production processes.
To achieve this, we implement strict control and optimization of equipment powered by fuel, regularly monitor gas treatment systems, and perform scheduled inspections, maintenance, and upgrades. We prioritize the use of environmentally friendly fuels and continuously renew our vehicle fleet to ensure improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Additionally, substances that impact the ozone layer are carefully tracked, and cooling systems are transitioned to ozone-friendly alternatives in line with EU regulations.
Preventative measures are established to avoid accidental releases of petroleum products into the environment, and rigorous emission monitoring is carried out at all operational facilities to ensure compliance with Polish and European environmental standards.
Turms Spółka Refinery operates energy-efficient infrastructure to responsibly utilize process gases and reduce atmospheric emissions. This includes the use of modern power generation systems designed to convert recovered gases into electricity and heat for internal operations. We also employ advanced technologies to re-inject process gases, support energy recovery, and utilize gas resources as fuel for industrial systems such as boilers, furnaces, and process heating units.
